La Caverne Jazz Association, Marseille

One of my favourite spots in Marseille, La Caverne Jazz Association, feels like a hidden gem that only exists thanks to the dedication of its volunteers. I love the way the old and the modern rub shoulders here, and how curiosity and authenticity shape every corner of the space. Some might call it rough around the edges, others find it beautiful—but to me, it has character and soul.

I’ve been lucky to see some incredible artists from the international jazz scene perform here. While the focus is often on new and original compositions, there’s also a deep respect for the legends of jazz. In 2025, for example, the venue paid homage to giants like Mingus and Duke Ellington, keeping their music alive for new audiences.

This is a place where the music truly connects people. Every Friday, I join in, feeling the energy that volunteers and music bring together. It’s intimate, authentic, and full of surprises—definitely a must-visit if you love jazz that’s alive and heartfelt.
